Back to the original topic....? I definitely see Trowa and Quatre hitting and passing the 6' mark, barring any Mad 5 manipulation. Of the last three, I kinda assume Wufei to be tallest followed closely by Duo with Heero as the shortest.
Barring crazy-ass mutations, height is pretty much based solely on quality of nutrition during your growing years and the growing years of your family/ancestors. Wufei seems to have come from a pretty well-to-do clan so while the chinese as a whole tend toward the short side, the more wealthy the clan the taller the average height.
Duo is classified as 'American' aka 'mutt' aka who-the-hell-knows what kind of genetic stock he's gotta have. His parents could be of tiny Russian descent or huge ass viking (or some combination of the two). However, he's a street rat and an orphan. Neither would be good sources of proper nutrition. I'm sure once G got a hold of him, Duo probably shot up like a weed, but that won't make up for all that he had lost in the early years.
As for Heero, I could be suffering from a male sort of 'slayer-syndrome' (tiny cute package with ungodly amounts of strength in a butt-kicking variety) but I just like the idea of him being the smallest. He's got the genetics for it, and honestly we have no idea how much J messed around with his normal growing cycle, nor how well Odin took care of him.
Honestly though? I always thought the Mad 5 would have done some crazy gene therapy in order to make sure none of them grew too much while they were fighting. *shit! growth spurt! I can't fit into my Gundam!!!!!!* That would keep them all pretty close to their 15 year old height forever.
Yes? No? Maybe so?

But Treize is fucking TALL and he fits fine in his mobile suits. I've never understood the concept that them growing would be bad, those openings look roomy enough @.@
Heero is definitely the compact buttkicker. Thin as a stick but stronger than Hercules. (mind you, the mythological Herc, not the one from DBZ who was a pussy :'D)

Lol!! Legendary Hercules all the way!! <.< Kevin Sorbo?!?! O.O
True, but Treize didn't fit into a Gundam, did he??
I can't remember who it was, but someone made a comment about how the Gundam pilots had to be kids because of the way physics worked on their lower total body mass.
I think the idea would be that technology was advanced enough for an adult to 'comfortably' use a regular mobile suit. The Gundam's were so much faster and stronger than the regular suits that the technology could only account for pilots with extremely low total body mass. The lower body mass means less stress when dealing with inertia and G-forces when performing Gundam acrobatics. I like to think that's why Zechs and Otto had such a problem with the Tallgeese.

Treize piloted the Tallgeese II
It was a gundam, actually.

Maybe Treize was a cyborg?? Yes? No?
Tallgeese II might have had state of the art upgrades that weren't feasible when the boys were first setting out.

Well, since it ever really went into the dynamics, we just assume it was the same. I mean, Zechs' piloted a Gundam and he did a damn fine job of it. He was no boy either. And Zechs isn't exactly small.
I think they literally threw that line in there to attempt to justify making all the pilots underaged. It's kind of bull-shittery Japane can get away with because they're Japan.

Oh! I didn't mean that it was a canon line I heard. It was a fan speculation that I heard and thought was an interesting way of reasoning out what canon didn't explain.

I think all the boys were young because, realistically, teenagers can recuperate and spring back much more easily than adults. They have that energy while still touching on some of the benefits of being a full-grown adult - such as the ability to think maturely and rationally. Plus, they were all supertrained. I don't think height was ever relevant. Trowa's super tall and no one gave a damn.

Lol. We're all a bit nerdy here!
Definitely agree with the bouncing back bit (Oooo, alliteration!), though I don't think Trowa was that much taller than the rest. Noticeably taller, sure. But not enough to be considered a different relative term (ie. 'tall', 'short', 'average' etc.).

The original Trowa Barton was adult sized so I'd think heavyarms cockpit likely had a bit more elbow and leg room. Zechs is not a small man... and since treize designed tallgeese II and III and epion himself I think he would have made accomidations for favorite test pilots particularly long legs. (I think epion was never designed for heero treize just used him as a currior of sorts to get the suit to zechs)

Good point about the original Trowa, had forgotten about that.
