I'd always wondered how the Zero and Epyon systems got in to the pilots' minds and made them see things; seems like a pretty difficult thing to do, even with the tech they have in this timeline! My friend and I made up a silly explanation while watching Endless Waltz (we were kind of hyper at the time): When they were building Wing Zero, Howard accidentally dropped his stash into the air vents, and said "Whatever", and left it. So when the pilots are in Wing Zero, they are basically getting high from Howard's stash and that's why they're seeing things, like a bunch of random Deathscythes As for Epyon, Treize used it to hide his stash from Lady Une and used Epyon to go partying (that's a bit unrelated but we think that's hilarious ;D), then he forgot about the stash and gave the unit to Heero XD That's my friend and I's ridiculous theory, does anyone else have an idea, be it silly or serious?

Exactly. Howard the druggie dropped his pot and was too stoned to care. And Treize is a filthy whore. I think what actually happened was someone got pissed. Someone got really pissed. And they decided to mess around with the first Gundam they saw because that's what I do when I'm pissed, idk about you, and they added some MIND CONTROL TECHNOLOGY. So when Heero rode in Epyon and Wing (and Quatre) this guy used MIND CONTROL. But he was so fucking PISSED so he want "BLARGHFOHE!" And so did they.

That....is most possibly the most brilliant explanation ever. Both of them. I wish someone would hide their stash in MY gundam . XP

...you have a gundam too, man? Awesome, man.
Honestly, it's not impossible. There is ALWAYS some form of technology that is ALWAYS kept a secret or is kept under wraps by some government or by anyone, really. Whether it be for selfish reasons (want more money for the patent/right to distribute, etc) or simply it doesn't fit with the economy/worldview. (Hence why you'll see in the US a large amount of FAIL!business that doesn't last long, but it keeps the economy going because we're based on, duh, capitalism, the system of making and spending loads of cash.)
Also, eccentric, brilliant scientists who have plotted this for a while? Oh, oh. Do NOT underestimate weird, possibly manic scientists. 8C Albert Einstein on crack, yo.

Exactly. I always thought J looked like Einstein after a horrible cocaine addiction.

I think the main reason for zero was there is normally a lag between when the pilot imputs a command and when the mecha reacts, zero was a way to connect the gundam's CPU, targering systems and friend/foe identification systems directally into the pilots mind. trouble is the pilots mind doesn't process like a computer, and with too much exposure to vast quanities of datta causes the human mind to overload, generating random images and causing the individual to focus so much on what is going on inside their head that they stop paying attention to the real world around them. also the computer wasn't configured to undestand emotion so through that into the mix you get a sort of giant feed back loop where bad things happen. that is my take anyway...no stash involved.

I have a gundam too! Crazy! ... ... ... ... ... ...Okay, I lied. It's a civic. But I drive very aggressively! And I pretend I have Deathscythe's hyper jammers since NO ONE seems to be able to see my Rallye Red car coming.
Uh, anyway, it's possible that the ZERO system could exert a form of 'mind control' or more likely, hypnosis, via the use of rapidly flashing lights. You find the right pattern and speed, you can seriously mess with a person's head. In the Epyon, because there is a helmet involved, there is the possibility that electrodes are interfering with the pilot's neural impulses with tiny little electrical charges. Most of this totally not possible now, due to the fact that the brain is pretty uncharted territory. But GW is set rather far in the future, so it's possible breakthroughs would have been made by then.

Aw, I can't drive yet... But Gundam Pilots are the same age as me, I should be allowed to pilot a mobile suit! XD Oooh, hypnosis! I like those theories for Zero and Epyon! ;D

I got my gundam from e-bay it was severly battle damaged almost sliced half to be precise. The whole lower half is slag. I got a friend from area 11 to scavege bits of an old knightmare frame from a scrapyard. Hopefully i can get the land-spinners to work but thay are giving me grief at the momment. Oh if anyone knows where i can get parts for a Zibach stealth cloak i'd like to incorporate that too. they say hybrids are good for the environment isn't that right?

I think Zonko's is having a specisl on those stealth cloaks. Yeah, I actually stole a piece from the PRIUS. It's useless for anything else seeing as it's a Toyota.
i kid, i kid
